Michael AndeyinOlumide Ogunsanwo, a TikToker known as “Sea King“ has been released after the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) rearrested him on Thursday for allegations bordering on cybercrime.
Omoyele Sowore, the publisher of Sahara Reporters, shared that Ogunsanwo was released on administrative bail on Monday.
He said this was after they rejected the bail condition posed by the police requiring the accused to provide a Level 10 or Level 12 civil servant.
“We are pleased to confirm that Olumide Ogunsanwo has been released from custody after our prompt rejection of the initial bail condition requiring Level 12 or 10 civil servants, resulting in a swift agreement and release on administrative bail, signed by me,” Sowore shared on X.

Sowore said on Friday that the police had claimed that the TikToker was rearrested after an individual submitted a petition on behalf of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
“According to them (policemen at the FID), one Paul James Adama, using the name of one ‘Christian association or group’ affiliated with Police PRO Adejobi Olumuyiwa submitted a ‘petition’ to their office on behalf of the RCCG General Overseer,” Sowore posted on X.
“We asked how a TikTok video by Sea King could bully or frighten a whole General Overseer protected by heavenly angels and worldly security agencies. They quickly asked that ‘we go and come back’ after Jumat’s prayers, but apparently, they have no plan to free him from their unjust custody.”
This was after initial claims that Muyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson of the NPF, had demanded Ogunsanwo’s arrest for his video on police corruption.

Meanwhile, the RCCG public relations team released a statement on Monday. The church said the petition against Ogunsanwo was submitted by the Concerned Christian Youth Forum and others on behalf of the Fathers of Faith which includes Pastor Adeboye.
It also stated that it would allow the law to take its course and would not interfere with the process.
“The Church does not intend to interfere with the ongoing police investigation, especially as there is an official complaint filed by the Concerned Christian Youth Forum against Olumide Ogunsanwo John (Seaking303) and others on behalf of the Fathers of Faith, including Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye,” the statement reads in part.
“Therefore, we trust that the relevant authorities will carry out their investigations professionally and reach a just conclusion based on the law.
“While Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye maintains a heart of love and reconciliation, due process must be followed.”
