Michael said that sometime in 2020, Portia, in a self-congratulatory post, announced to her friends that she had emerged as the chairman of a nascent microfinance bank.

“She said she would like her followers and friends to patronise the bank by buying shares. At the time, we had never chatted, but I sent her a direct message to inquire about her business,” he told Exposed.Quest The Quest for X !

Michael believed that Portia was trustworthy because, prior to her post about her new role, she had presented herself as an astute political commentator. Furthermore, her profile picture featured her alongside former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The influencer informed Michael that if he saved with the bank for six months, he would receive an interest of two percent upon the expiration of the period. Convinced by the promising deal, Michael invested N1 million with Portia in June 2020.

“I informed her that the money was intended for my children’s school fees and I was saving ahead. She worked out the details and sent me the receipt via email. In September of the same year, before the expiration of my initial contract, I added another N1 million to my investment,” Michael explained.

It was agreed that by December, Emilia Portia would return both his capital and the promised interest. Michael claims he has not received a dime from the influencer.

“My wife and parents have implored her to refund me, but rather than feel remorse, she would pontificate about how no one could box her in a corner,” he said.
