The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has delivered a 32-page international passport booklet to Tolulope Komolafe, a Lagos State resident who paid for the service on January 22 but did not get it.
Via courier service, the NIS sent the booklet to him on Tuesday morning, two days after FIJ reported that customer care personnel told Komolafe they could not deliver or refund his N5,000 payment.
On Thursday, Komolafe explained to FIJ that he visited the NIS website in January to apply for his passport renewal. Upon completing the process, he visited the Ikorodu passport office on January 28 to have his details captured.
He called the NIS on February 20 to ask when they would be delivering his passport, but they told him they could not get it to him. He then sent a message to them on Facebook, and they told him the same thing.

On Sunday, FIJ called Alao Babatunde, the Chief Press Secretary to Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
Babatunde said he would look into the matter. On Monday morning, he called back to say the ministry was investigating the matter. Hours later, Komolafe called to say the NIS office in Ikorodu called him to say they would send his passport on Tuesday.
“I got a call this morning from the Ikorodu passport office,” Komolafe told FIJ on Monday. “They said my passport would be delivered tomorrow morning. I really appreciate. You are the best.”
