Arik Air has made a N201,500 refund to Jason Ozoemena*, a Lagos State resident whose Lagos–Jos flight was cancelled by the airline in May.

While speaking to FIJ on Friday, Ozoemena said the refund was made on October 31.

“The refund was made to my account on October 31. It was on a Thursday,” Ozoemena said.

“Thank you so much, FIJ. If not for your prompt intervention, the refund might have taken years for me to get. I booked the flight in May and the flight was cancelled in early June.

On August 16, FIJ reported how the Lagos resident booked a Lagos–Jos Arik Air flight on May 31, only for it to be cancelled by the airline on June 3.

After the cancellation, Ozoemena made several efforts including sending emails and visiting Arik Air’s office to get a refund, but his request remained unresolved.

He eventually reached out to FIJ on the matter on August 13.
