After EQ's Story, Air Peace Reactivates Abuja Resident’s Unused Ticket

Air Peace has reactivated the unused flight ticket belonging to Bishir Abubakar, an Abuja resident.

This came after EQ published a September 2 report on how one of the airline’s officials told Abubakar that seats were no longer available for an Abuja to Enugu flight he wanted to reactivate the unused ticket for.

“Thank you so much, EQ. The ticket has now been reactivated,” a delighted Abubakar told EQ in a phone conversation on Saturday.

“I can now make my trip to Enugu from Abuja on October 20 like I initially planned.

“A week after the story was published, the airline reached out to me via a phone call to apologise for the delay in the reactivation process. This was on September 9.

Abubakar’s Reactivated Flight Ticket

“The official who spoke to me then asked for my flight ticket details and worked on it while I stayed on the line. After that, I was told to log on to their portal to complete the process and I did.

“Minutes later, I received my flight confirmation ticket. I, however, had to pay an additional N24,000 during the ticket booking, but I don’t mind.

“What is most important is that I am able to use the ticket. Thank you so much, EQ, for all you do. I appreciate your intervention on this matter.”

On October 18, Abubakar had booked an Abuja–Asaba return flight ticket with Air Peace.

The N213,000 ticket booking was supposed to see Abubakar make the Abuja–Asaba round trip between October 27 and 28.

Unfortunately, due to a sudden change in his work plans, Abubakar could not make the trip as planned. He then subsequently notified the airline of the development, requesting that the ticket be “kept open” until the period he would have to make his next air travel.

When he was eventually ready to make use of the ticket for an Abuja-to-Enugu round trip in October, he reached out to Air Peace on August 29 to request that his ticket be reactivated.

On telling the airline he would love to choose October 20 and 25 as his departure and return dates, the official who attended to him claimed seats were no longer available for both days.

Surprisingly, two of his colleagues, who were planning to attend the same programme, subsequently booked their flight tickets with Air Peace for the same period after the official had told him that seats were no longer available.

When he also attempted booking the same flight, he found out seats were indeed still available.

This then made him believe the official, through her response, had tried to prevent him from using his open ticket.
