Funmilola Eyitayo, a Lagos State resident, has accused Adeleke Eluwole, the founder of Elukaz Travels and Tours, of refusing to refund N6 million she, her sister and a friend paid for some documents.
Eyitayo said they each paid N2 million to Eluwole in March 2023 through the man who linked them together to help them secure a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) in the United Kingdom. The trio neither received the certificate nor got their money back.
She said Eluwole assured them they would get their CoS because he had someone who could facilitate it if they paid N2 million each. He also told them they would need to pay an additional N2 million after receiving the CoS, but they never did because the documents didn’t arrive, Eyitayo said.

Eyitayo said Eluwole had explained before they made the payment that upon their arrival in the UK, they would be required to refund $1,000 monthly for seven months. They agreed to this condition.
Eyitayo’s statement of account indicating she paid N2m.
“He said the package included a job and accommodation for a month, after which we would have to sort ourselves out. We each paid N2 million. He assured us that if we didn’t get the CoS, he would refund our money,” Eyitayo told FIJ.
Eyitayo’s friend statement of account showing she also paid N2m.
“We have been requesting a refund, but to no avail. He wanted us to try another route, but we refused. He then promised to refund us but hasn’t done so. I met him through a brother who acted as an intermediary. When the brother called him, he refused to answer.

“We sent messages, but he didn’t reply. I went to his office when I travelled to Ibadan but didn’t find him there. His staff said they would get back to us. The following week, he called and said he would make a payment. I sent my account details upon his request, but he never made the transfer. Since then, he has stopped responding to my messages.”
When FIJ contacted Eluwole, he admitted he had yet to refund Eyitayo, her sister and their friend, citing financial difficulties. He said he would reimburse them on or before the end of April.
